The Power Awakening

A massive overhaul of the battle system — six new class powers, rebalanced mechanics, a fully reworked shield interaction model, and major quality-of-life improvements across the board. Also includes live voice chat, a new teacher onboarding wizard, and dozens of bug fixes.

Guardian

  • Battle Cry — Boosts party answer damage by +3 for the round. Limited to 2 uses per battle.
  • Iron Will — Absorbs a fatal blow and holds the Guardian at 1 HP instead of falling.

Mage

  • Eldritch Blast — Spend MP for a direct damage spike; the more MP invested, the harder it hits.
  • Curse of Vulnerability — Boss takes +50% damage from all sources for the round.

Healer

  • Purify — Cleanses a negative status effect from an ally. Immune to Silence.
  • Soul Link — Bonds with an ally; incoming damage is split between the Healer and target for the round.
  • Tiered MP costs — Scaling powers now cost more at higher level tiers (1–10, 11–20, 21–30).
  • Guard — Now allows targeting any 1–3 allies (not locked to the maximum). Tiered cost: 2 / 4 / 6 MP.
  • Absorb — Conversion ratio updated to 1.5:1 HP→MP (rounded up). MP is now properly granted to the caster.
  • Intercept — Now correctly targets the Guardian's chosen ally. Bonus damage scales with level (5 + 2× level).
  • Enduring Spirit — Revival HP scales with Healer level (10% + 1%/level, up to 40%). Capped at 3 uses per Healer per battle.
  • Nature's Guidance — Base success chance increased from 20% → 25%.
  • Regeneration Field — Formula updated to 1d6 + level. Gentler MP cost scaling (35 / 40 / 45 MP).
  • Iron Will — MP cost reduced to 12.
  • Inspiring Strike — MP cost reduced to 20.
  • Elemental Fusion + Inspiring Strike — Now stack additively (×3 each). Both active in the same round correctly produces ×6 total.
  • Berserker Strike, Chaos Storm, Divine Judgment — Damage now queues at round end and is correctly amplified by Elemental Fusion, Inspiring Strike, and Curse of Vulnerability.
  • Arcane Shield vs. Zen Shield — The system now correctly distinguishes between the two shields. Nameplate tooltips show the actual power name and caster.
  • Guard + Zen Shield fix — Guardians can now target Zen-Shielded allies with Guard. This was previously blocked incorrectly.
  • Guard + Arcane Shield synergy — If a player has both Guard and Arcane Shield active, the Arcane Shield intercepts first — protecting both the target AND the Guardian from redirect damage.
  • Iron Will + Zen Shield shatter — Iron Will is now the only effect that can soften a Zen Shield shatter. When active, the Guardian survives at 1 HP instead of falling.
  • Arcane Shield — Players may now select 1, 2, or 3 targets (previously required exactly 3). A power-specific warning shows when fewer than the maximum are selected.
  • Arcane Redirect — Completely reworked: selection is capped by current MP (15 MP per Mage), a cost preview is shown, and a confirmation step is required before committing.
  • Lesser Heal, Psionic Aura, Solar Empowerment — All now allow flexible target counts with power-specific warning messages.

A new floating panel appears on the battle screen whenever synergistic powers are active. Color-coded for instant recognition — draggable, resizable, and collapsible. Disappears entirely when no synergies are active.

Mages targeted by Arcane Redirect see their name highlighted with a personal callout. Also visible on the teacher's battle screen.

  • Late answer protection — Answers submitted in the final seconds of a round are no longer missed before results are calculated.
  • MP floor at 0 — Power MP deductions can no longer drive a student into negative MP.
  • Arcane Redirect MP floor — Guardian's MP is properly floored at 0 when empowered Mages fire Wildfire.
  • Battle Cry buff icon — Now correctly appears on the student battle screen.
  • Arcane Shield buff icon — Now correctly appears on student nameplates in both teacher and student views.
  • Purify banner — A party-wide banner now appears when Purify successfully cleanses a status effect.

  • Students see a Join Voice button when the teacher has enabled it.
  • Pulsing mic indicators appear on nameplates when a player is speaking.
  • Teachers can mute individual students or issue a global mute from battle controls.
  • Audio ducking — Battle music automatically fades to 30% when the teacher speaks, then restores.
  • A prominent LIVE badge displays whenever voice is active.
  • Battle Chat (formerly "The War Council") — Renamed for clarity.
  • Battle Log — Rebuilt as a draggable, resizable floating panel. Default position: bottom-left.
  • Student Power Bar — Now a draggable floating panel. Position persists across rounds.
  • All floating panels — Position and size saved to localStorage and restored on page load, surviving round transitions.
  • Boss debuff icons — Elemental Fusion, Inspiring Strike, and Curse of Vulnerability badges appear near the boss image — visible even when the HP bar is hidden.
  • Call for Healing / Call for Magic — Students can flag when they need a heal or MP restore. Nameplates pulse when active. Power targeting prioritizes callers by lowest stat.
  • New teachers are greeted by the Oracle in a 6-step onboarding wizard covering student enrollment, the Vault, and all five core features.
  • Each linked page shows an Oracle banner and an interactive spotlight tour highlighting key UI elements.
  • The teacher header now includes a Restart Tutorial button accessible at any time.
  • Landing page — New scrollable marketing sections with real feature artwork, a second video, and a CTA. Animated "Venture Forth" scroll indicator added to the hero.

  • AI tool pages — Fixed a crash (blank page) on AI tools for some teacher accounts.
  • Bonus loot (Patrols) — Solo patrol bonus loot now correctly fires and shows on the patrol summary screen.
  • Duel CSV import — Fixed silent truncation of questions that contained commas in the answer text.
  • Guild Hall chat — Long unspaced strings now wrap correctly instead of overflowing the chat window.
  • Student dashboard background — No longer incorrectly shows a company logo as the page background.
  • Voice chat token — Fixed a voice connection failure affecting some environments.
